This year, Sontex once again gave young talents the opportunity to gain insights into the working world as part of Girls’ & Boys’ Day. At the Sontex site in Rödermark, Kate and Minel, two students from a local secondary school, had the opportunity to discover different areas of the company and gain an impression of everyday working life.
Insights into a Diverse Working Environment
The Rödermark site offers a wide range of opportunities to discover different areas of a company. The students were introduced to fields ranging from accounting and sales to service and logistics. As Sontex operates in the metering business, many of these areas also have a technical connection.
For Oltzai Sefedinoglou, Managing Director of Sontex Deutschland, Girls’ Day is an important opportunity to show young people the career opportunities available at Sontex: “For us, a day like this is very important because it allows us to show the professional opportunities that are available to young people at our company.”
It is also about challenging outdated ideas about certain professions and showing young talents how diverse the working world can actually be.
Women in Technical and Key Positions
At Sontex, important positions have been held by women for many years. One example is Alexandra, a qualified engineer who is part of the inside sales team and provides technical support for Sontex’s metering products.
This also demonstrates that technical expertise and diverse professional perspectives naturally go hand in hand at Sontex.
A Day Full of New Impressions
For Sontex, Girls’ Day 2026 with Kate and Minel was not only an opportunity to provide insights into different areas of work, but also an enjoyable experience for everyone involved. The visit to the high-bay warehouse was one particular highlight and likely created one of those small “wow moments” that stay in your memory.
For Sontex, Girls’ Day provides young people with valuable orientation and the opportunity to discover their own interests and career perspectives. At the same time, the exchange also creates new impulses for the company.
Sontex is therefore happy to support initiatives like this in the future and to help give young talents an authentic insight into the world of work.
