A special moment at E-world energy & water: Sontex received a certificate from PPC confirming the interoperable connection of Sontex metering solutions via wM-BUS / OMS® with the CLS Adapter Submetering on the Smart Meter Gateway (SMGW).
This compatibility confirmation marks an important step towards further digitalization of metering and creates new opportunities for connecting Sontex metering technology to existing infrastructure.
Interoperability as an Important Step
Sontex metering technology using wM-BUS / OMS® has been successfully tested for connection to a Smart Meter Gateway. This provides an interoperable solution for metering service providers, municipal utilities and the housing sector looking to offer submetering via an SMGW.
The confirmed compatibility also demonstrates how existing metering technology can be connected to modern communication infrastructures. For Sontex, this represents another important milestone on the path towards an increasingly digitalized energy sector.
New Opportunities for the Energy Sector
The significance of this confirmation extends beyond traditional submetering. In district heating, the Smart Meter Gateway can also serve as a central communication platform. This could, for example, make the connection of Sontex thermal energy meters via the CLS interface an interesting option.
For customers in the energy sector, interoperability therefore opens up additional perspectives for implementing digital metering concepts.
